Food to Try This Week
-
Get some Thanh Thanh before they close for vacation (10718 101 St.)
-
Vietnamese restaurant Thanh Thanh will be closed July 23-August 7 for summer break so be sure to pop in for some food before then! This is one of the spots my family likes to go for family dinner.
-
-
Support Vegan eater Die Pie (11817 105 Ave.)
-
Plant-based pizzeria and Vegan restaurant Die Pie was broken into this week. I’m sure they would appreciate a bit of extra support—they’ve got lots of plant-based pizza, burger, and pasta and appetizer options to choose from.
-
-
Grab some authentic Jamaican patties from Lloyd’s Patty Distro (10534 111 St.)
-
New-ish Lloyd’s Patty Distro opened in Edmonton a month ago specializing in beef, chicken or vegetable “Jamaican Alberta” patties. This patty shop expanded up from Calgary and they’re popular—when we popped in after lunch on a weekday their fresh / frozen boxes were all sold out for the day! You can add cheese or a Coco bread (a coconut milk folded bread) to any patty, order a breakfast patty (includes an egg), or get the beef + chicken spicy!
-
-
Check out the Summer Menu at HanJan (South 3735 99 St. / Oliver 10166 114 St.)
-
I have been eyeing up HanJan Korean Restaurant’s new summer menu and am excited to try!! They’ve got a bunch of new non-alcoholic drinks like Strawberry Matcha or Yuja Lemonade, alcoholic summer drinks like Yuja Sour or a Seoul Mule, plus cold noodle dishes and refreshing desserts. My double date there isn’t until August but if you go before me, let me know which summer dishes were your favourites.
-
-
Go for a Flight of Ice Cream around town (10983 127 St.)
-
Popped into Twice Cream for the first time this week and it’s super cute! I love that they offer a Flight of Ice Cream (four flavours!) and then saw that a few ice cream shops actually offer this fun ice cream flight option including Made by Marcus and Millers Ice Cream (Fort Saskatchewan).
