Try the noodles from Chongqing Noodle & Bubble (10140 104 St.)
I recently revisited CQ Noodle & Bubble and had some amazing noodles. They are still pretty new, having only been open less than a year (last summer). Their Chef Meat (pork) noodle soup is one of my favourites in town (I need to my update my Asian soups blog to include them!) My friend tried the Braised Beef noodle and really enjoyed it and we also shared their sour and spicy dumplings which were excellent. Service was lovely and speedy and the dishes were full of flavour. First year of restaurant openings can be so difficult. If you are looking for a new noodle place to try, check them out. I share the menu over on my Facebook.

Small Business Spotlight
Marr Mac Dance is a family-owned dance studio teaching dance in Old Strathcona for 56 years!! This is a small operation that provides dance programs for both children and adults, that told me business hasn’t been quite the same since the pandemic. If you’ve been thinking about picking up some new dance skills, or putting your kids in some programs, maybe Marr Mac Dance is for you!
Paper Birch Books is such an awesome used bookstore in Little Italy. We just picked up a few new-to-us books over the weekend (Mike always finds first edition treasures to add to a book series he’s been collecting) and had fun showing off the cute store to our out-of-town guests. Then we saw that their storefront window was smashed in the next day! :( Maybe show them an extra bit of love if you can. They are open again.
From the Blog Vault
Around this time three years ago I was celebrating local businesses that innovated during an impossible year—highlighting pandemic pivots, one year after the pandemic started. The effects of the pandemic are still being felt across businesses and industries and people.
