I surprised my friend with a $1,000 gift and you can too—by nominating someone in Servus Credit Union’s Feel Good Movement!

It’s not a great time right now for a lot of people, or businesses, or non-profits, I’m sad to say.

Many are really doing the best they can. Some people certainly are in better situations than others, but for the most part, 2020 has been bleak and it’s not really looking like it’s getting much better anytime soon.

So I appreciate any initiatives that try to inject some positivity into our lives. I try to do this myself, but I’m also super happy to spread the word when other people—or organizations—do too.

That’s why it was an easy “YES!” from me, when Servus Credit Union reached out to ask if I’d work with them to help promote their new Feel Good Movement, a campaign aimed at lifting Albertans up, helping them feel good during tough times, by gifting 60 Albertans gifts of $1,000 value over the next few months.

Nominate someone to win a $1,000 gift from Servus Credit Union!

Amazing, right?! Let’s get back to feeling good again with some help from Servus.

You don’t have to be an existing Servus member to participate!

You can join the Servus Feel Good Movement by nominating an individual, business or non-profit organization for a chance for them to receive a personalized gift valued at $1,000. Maybe you gift them $1,000 worth of groceries, or you help them pay for bills. Maybe you’re ordering $1,000 worth of meals from a restaurant, or helping out a non-profit who has seen donations dwindle.

Servus is picking several winners each week over the next few months and it’s really easy to nominate someone—just head to their website and fill out their simple form.

Servus wants to help make people feel good during this time!

This is just one of the ways Servus helping Albertans feel good and making a positive impact in the province. They’ve also pledged $50,000 to support mental health services in Alberta and funded more than $150 million in CEBA loans since the pandemic began.

But the easiest way for YOU to join the Feel Good Movement is to nominate someone because then you can see their reaction when you surprise them with your gift, like I did with my deserving friend this week!!!

I surprised my friend Brittney, who has been having a really tough time during the pandemic, with a $1,000 gift through the Servus Feel Good Movement!

Jumping for joy—feeling good!

This gift is going to help ease some of the financial pressures Brittney’s been facing—working less hours, having to replace her tires, buying expensive medicine to tackle her horrible migraines. Brittney also lives alone and hasn’t had a lot of physical interaction the last few months with the pandemic. And she’s been taking on a lot of emotional labour—doing amazing work spreading the message and educating about Black Lives Matter, anti-racism and LGBTQ2S+ issues.

I was actually going to nominate Brittney for this movement before Servus had reached out, because I thought it would be such a nice and meaningful surprise for her during these tough times. She really deserves it.

And if you think someone in your life deserves a $1,000 gift too, then NOMINATE THEM in the Servus Feel Good Movement! You just have to answer a few simple questions and that’s it!

There’s no deadline (yet) but try to get your nominations in sooner than later. They’re picking several winners each week until they hit 60 winners in total ($60,000 gifted!)

I can’t describe the feeling of helping a friend feel good like this. I really want you to feel it too!

Thank you to Servus Credit Union for the work you’re doing helping Albertans during this difficult time. Thank you for partnering with me to spread the word so more Albertans can feel good.

And thank you for allowing me to give my friend this special gift! You certainly helped her feel good and you helped me feel good too. This is something we’ll always remember!
