NYE list first posted: Friday, December 7, 2012. Last updated: Monday, December 31, 2012.
This year I really want to get dressed up and go to a nice, New Years Eve event that involves great food and isn’t a bar party!
My New Years Eve celebrations in general have never been anything too crazy. Last year we had a night in with Mike’s sister and her friends, playing Settlers of Catan (which was awesome! But definitely low-key). The year before we ended up going to a bar for the sake of our friend visiting from the U.S., who was legal in Canada but not legal in America so going to a bar legally was a big deal for her, lol. And then the year before that Mike and I spent our New Years at Northlands with his parents – for a dinner and casino night. Those are my New Years in recent memory, before that most of my New Years involved staying at home, watching New Years Eve TV specials or going to Vietnamese New Years events with my parents. Yawn.
Time to spice things up!!
I’m looking for a New Years event for us (and Mike’s sister + her boyfriend will be joining us this year too) to attend that is fancy but affordable?
I’ve decided I will chronicle what New Years Eve events (non bar/club-based) I find in this blog post to help both myself and any other Edmontonians looking for something to do! I think a lot of restaurants/venues are in the process of announcing NYE events (I hope anyway… because I’m having a hard time finding stuff!)
Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:
