Food to Try This Week
Celebrate the return of my parent’s restaurant King Noodle House (10615 97 St.)
After being closed nearly two months due to my mom’s knee injury, my parents have reopened their Vietnamese restaurant King Noodle House Pho Hoang and I do hope you swing by and give it a try if you’ve never, or try it again if it’s been awhile. They specialize in Vietnamese beef noodle soup (pho), a family recipe passed down three generations. And they’re cash only. Open for dine-in or pick-up!! If you plan on going and need order recommendations, reply and I’ll suggest a few items!!
Grab ingredients to make a bánh mì board (10648 98 St.)
Vietnamese sandwich shop Van Loc in Chinatown are now selling ‘Build Your Own Bánh Mì’ ingredients so you can buy your ingredients deconstructed and make your own sandwich OR do what I did and make your own bánh mì BOARD!!! (click to watch my video of the one I made). And Co Chin Saigon, also in Chinatown, are selling banh mi boards to-go too! You could also just pick up ingredients at an Asian grocer and try to make your own pate + Vietnamese mayo/butter but the convenience of these are great!!
Try Pizza Garage’s new downtown location (10020 Jasper Ave.)
Pizza Garage—one of our favourite pizza spots—just opened a new location in downtown Edmonton! They do Detroit, New York and Bar Pie styles.
Pick up some holiday treats (various locations)
Go for a holiday brunch (various locations)
Ate something amazing recently? Want to show some love to a struggling restaurant? Have a take-out suggestion? Let me know to include in this newsletter.
