Last year one of my most popular blog posts was my Guide for Where to Order Take-Home Christmas Meals in Edmonton.
It made sense why it was so well-viewed and used—we were in the thick of the pandemic and dining in was not an option for the holidays. As well, no one wanted to cook for the holidays lol.
The year was tough enough.
This year is a bit different—though, we are certainly still in a pandemic—with 84% of Albertans 12+ now fully vaccinated, kids 12 and under getting their first shots, restaurants having reopened and restriction exemption program / proof of vax in place, it does feel like it should be a more festive, in-person season, BUT!!! A fifth wave is looming, comfort levels really vary, rules may be changing, many are immunocompromised so are at greater risk even if vaccinated (if they’re able to be vaccinated), and hey, people still don’t really want to cook for the holidays, lol so it’s still not a bad idea to do your Christmas / holiday meals as take-out still. Plenty of reasons to let someone do the work for you (while supporting local restaurants and caterers who still need it!)
There are less local options for full Christmas take-out meals this season but still lots of great ones to choose from! If you are looking for some easy take-home meals for this 2021 holiday season,

Restaurants need time to prepare the meals!! Some dinners do not list order deadlines as well so your best bet is the earliest you can place your order the better. Inquire directly with the restaurant about add-ons or other options. Also if you’re offering a Christmas meal and you’re not listed, please let me know and I’d be happy to add you!
Of course, every year many Asian restaurants (including my parents Vietnamese restaurant King Noodle House Pho Hoang) are often open on Christmas Eve / Christmas Day so you can order their typical take-out menus if you’re not interested in the more traditional turkey / ham / fixings.
Annnnd of course, be sure to check out many local bakeries are offering the cutest and tastiest festive-themed desserts too! I only included full “meals” in this listing, not treats.

A Cappella is giving you the gift of time! Their holiday meal feeds 4-6 and includes salad, buns, vegetables, savoury stuffing, whipped potato puree, and a roasted turkey. Delicious add-ons and individual options available! Plus: $5 from the sale of every take & bake meal will be donated to Edmonton’s Ronald McDonald House.

Barb and Ernie’s
Barb and Ernie’s Old Country Inn is making a Heat and Serve Turkey Dinner with sliced turkey breast and savoury bread stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, corn pudding and homemade desserts.
Cost: $25 + GST (per person)
Order Deadline: Order prior to Dec. 16 pick-up Dec. 23-24.
Blue Plate Diner
Blue Plate Diner is offering a Roast Turkey Dinner (individual) with garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, classic bread stuffing, maple root vegetables and cranberry sauce, along with other holiday add-ons like cinnamon buns, pumpkin pie and cookie boxes

Bridges Catering
Bridges Catering is over individual Christmas Dinner Meal To Go with roast sliced turkey, gravy, veg, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, stuffing + check out tasty add-ons! Or check out their Holiday Menus (min. 6 people)

CAREIT Urban Deli
CAREIT Urban Deli is offering a Holiday Dinner of roasted turkey breast, slow braised turkey leg, mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables, traditional stuffing, turkey gravy, and cranberry sauce take-out wit gluten-free options and other tasty add-ons available.
Cost: $30 + GST (individual plate) / $100 + GST (family of four)

Celtic Kitchen
Order Celtic Kitchen’s Christmas Dinner for 4 featuring turkey, ham, apple stuffing mashed potatoes, honey dill glazed carrots, brussel sprouts, and more. Dessert is Sticky Toffee Pudding plus Cheese and Traditional Scones. Guaranteed Leftovers.
Cost: $225 +GST (serves 4)

Century Hospitality Group
The Century Hospitality Group is offering various Holiday Take and Makes this year, like a time saver casserole, breakfast, pancakes or pudding kits, along with other holiday kit/gifts.
Cost: $27-$44 (plus other add-ons)
Order Deadline: Requires 48 hours notice.
Culina To Go
Culina To Go is selling individual Holiday Dinner meals with roast turkey and the usual fixings plus a bag of gingerbread Caramunchies! Also has vegetarian options plus add-ons like stroganoff, brisket or tenderloin and more.
Cost: $45 + GST per person

D’Arcy’s Meat Market
D’Arcy’s Meat Market has teamed up with Twelve Mile Wolf to offer a classic Christmas takeaway feast featuring traditional roast turkey and maple glazed ham, sage and sausage stuffing, whipped potatoes, veg, yams, cheesecake and more.
Cost: $30 + GST per person

District Cafe
Order the District Cafe Holiday Dinner to celebrate the holidays without dirtying a dish! Everything comes all prepared- ready to simply heat & serve. 1/2 lb turkey per person, buttermilk mashed potatoes, stuffing, herbed carrots, glazed brussels sprouts, rosemary gravy, rolls, whipped butter and cranberry sauce.

Elizabethan Catering has expanded their take-home Christmas meal offerings with lots of options, from the Festive Feast for 2 (turkey or beef), meals for 6, combo side dishes, add-on desserts and more!

“Noche Buena” Filipino Christmas Feast
Christmas is one of the most important holidays for Filipino people. The Philippines has the longest Christmas season in the world with celebrations from early September lasting until mid January. Filipinos normally celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, “Noche Buena” or the “Good Night.” Enjoy it from Filistix this year!

The Hallway Cafe, whose chefs are talented youth, are offering up Christmas Dinner Kits this year. featuring a roasted turkey and cranberry sauce option or a maple glazed ham and grainy mustard option (with all the sides, fixings and dessert!)

Highlands Golf Club
The Highlands Golf Club wants you to leave the cooking to them! They’re offering Turkey Take-out serving 4-5 people, plus Christmas beer, cool, cider packs, side and dessert add-ons.

JustCook Kitchens
Edmonton’s new Food Hall JustCook Kitchens have a few different holiday meal options from their chefs including a Three Foodies Lamb Dinner or a HOM non-traditional Thai Dinner!

MEAT
MEAT’s Dinner for 4 returns this season including includes 2 lbs of smoked turkey breast and gravy, oven roast potatoes, buttery stuffing, parsnips, leeks, dill pickles, maple butter tarts and more. You can also add a Bourbon and Egg Nog Kit this year!

Meuwly’s
Meuwly’s Artisan Food Market is selling fully cooked smoked turkey and smoked honey ham for your holiday feast. Just heat and serve! 1/2 Turkey feeds 6-8 and includes cranberry sauce and gravy. Small ham feeds 2-3 / large feeds 8-10. Both come with signature Meuwly’s mustard.

Rockin’ Robyns is offering a Heat and Serve Christmas Dinner with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, carrots, desserts and more! You can also do soup and cabbage roll add-ons.

SandyView Farms

Simply Supper is helping you get Ready for the Holidays with their Christmas Supper meal that’s “Ready-2-Cook” (needs to be fully cooked).
