Food to Try This Week
Check out Firefly Restaurant (4208 Calgary Trail)
I tried the new-ish Firefly Restaurant in south Edmonton last week and really enjoyed my meal! The Prawn Tostadas on a Crispy Corn Tortilla was great, the Barolo Braised Beef Ravioli with asparagus and mushrooms, excellent! The Yellowfin Tuna Poke Bowl—also great! The decor/interior is also lovely and they have some nice spots set up for bigger groups/parties too.
Go for late night snacks and drinks at Little Wolf (8424 109 St.)
I also tried Little Wolf last week and really enjoyed my meal + the vibe! This is a walk-in only, full-service, cocktail bar restaurant with some delicious weekly specials and nightly specials. You’ve got to try the black cod belly!!!
Try the spicy Chinese food from South Silk Road Restaurant (5552 Calgary Trail)
I’m such a big fan of the intensely flavourful dishes from South Silk Road Chinese Restaurant in south Edmonton!! Try the Yunnan Style Cold Noodles or Cold Noodle Salad, Garlicky Gai Lan with Wood Ear Mushrooms, Yunnan Style Ground Pork with Green Pepper and Salted Turnip, and more! All delicious! The menu indicates whether dishes are spicy on a scale of 0-3. lol
Pop into Boxcar Coffee Shop (11926 129 Ave.)
Boxcar Coffee Shop in the north Edmonton neighbourhood of Calder is a beautiful little spot! They do a selection of drinks (I got a holiday gingerbread latte when we stopped by), desserts (try The Trainwreck their twist on a tres leches, breakfast sandwiches (comes with a side of chips!) and enjoy the decor. It’s real cute in there.
Try a new downtown market + cafe (10508 106 Ave.)
Central City Market is a new market and halal cafe selling coffee, smoothies, gelato, pizzas and pita pies. Thanks to Crystal for the heads up!
