Note: this is an ongoing list I will add to as I experience more Cute Places to Stay in Alberta!

Other notes to consider as you browse and decide which to book:

  • These are accommodations I’ve stayed at myself and personally recommend.
  • If my stay was hosted/gifted, I indicate that below each suggested accommodation
    • Even if a stay is gifted, that does not impact my opinions about the location—I will only put cute places I think you’d love to stay at (because I did!) on this list.
  • Some locations may include offers for discounted promos to book—some of these may have specific expiry dates. You can always double check with the property if you’re not sure!

Beehive Bungalows (Nordegg, Alberta)

Website | Instagram

The very cute Beehive Bungalows was our home base for Rocky Mountain adventures during our first mountain getaway with baby back in June 2023! * Note: our stay was gifted.

This is such a cute place to stay!!! And it’s owned by such a nice family and awesome host Celina. The owners of these bungalows also run the cute Beehive Artisans Market in the small hamlet of Nordegg, Alberta! This area is considered the “lesser-known Rockies”—a much less path less travelled than you’d find in Banff or Jasper area but offering up just as stunning hikes, views and Rocky Mountain experiences.

At Beehive Bungalows, you can choose from four different bungalows (they’re basically all the same just the exterior colour is different, obviously I chose the yellow 💛 ‘Abraham’).

Looking for cute accommodations in Nordegg?
A great stay for our family!
Beehive Bungalows is super close to a lot of scenic mountain adventure stops!

Beehive Bungalows features high ceilings and a loft sleeping area, main floor bedroom, bath (with heated floors!), kitchen/dining and living space with couch, chairs and wood stove. There’s also a little front deck with table and chairs and a communal fire pit and BBQ for use between the bungalows. This cute play to stay is great for families or a friend group. Pets are also welcome! 🐾

The world-famous Abraham Lake is super close by (teal water in the summer, cool bubbles in the winter), as well as many smaller recreational lakes, waterfalls and hiking trails for all experience levels as part of David Thompson Country.

At the time of our visit, Beehive Bungalows had been offering 10% off your summer 2023 stay if you mentioned code LINDORK2023.

“Go Away Stay Here” Cottage (Ma-Me-O Beach, Pigeon Lake, Alberta)

Website | Instagram

The very cute “Go Away Stay Here” big beach cottage was our September long weekend home base for our first visit to Ma-Me-O Beach at Pigeon Lake, located an hour’s drive from Edmonton.

* Note: our stay was gifted.

“Go Away Stay Here” is a stunning, big, renovated AirBnB home away from home fit for eight guests with four bedrooms, five beds, two bathrooms and an amazing all season indoor/outdoor enclosed patio. Everything here feels so clean and brand new!

Superhosts Tania and Jon opened this AirBnB at the end of the 2022 summer season after having spent months renovating and decorating the space. Tania grew up spending time at her family’s cabin at Pigeon Lake and creating a space other friends or families could enjoy had become a passion for her.

This is SUCH a stunning home!!
An unreal indoor/outdoor enclosed patio!
The cute 2 minute walk to the beach from this AirBnB!

Not only is the place beautiful but it’s so well stocked—extra blankets, towels, coffee, tea, everything you could think of needing in a home away from home is covered. It’s also got so many seating and lounging areas! They wanted to ensure eight people could comfortably sit together, dine together, play together in all areas of the home.

Located just a two minute walk from the white sand Ma-Me-O Beach at Pigeon Lake (Ma-Me-O is Cree for “pigeon”, omîmîw (ᐅᒦᒦᐤ), and approximately 100 km / one hour drive from Edmonton, this is such a cute and cozy place. You’ll make some incredible memories here!!

At the time of our visit, Go Away Stay Here had been offering 10% off your stay if you mentioned code LINDORK for booking made by March 31, 2024.

Guesthouse 71 and GH71 Studio (Medicine Hat, Alberta)

Website | FacebookInstagram

Guesthouse 71 is a super cute Bed & Breakfast located just 10 minutes outside of Medicine Hat in Southern Alberta. They offer two accommodation options—Guesthouse 71 or GH71 STUDIO. Either option makes the perfect location to set up for your Cypress Hills, Canadian Badlands, or Medicine Hat Southern Alberta-area adventure and includes a self-catered breakfast with your stay. I had the pleasure of staying at Guesthouse 71 during my Summer 2022 trip to Medicine Hat and the space was *so* cute and comfortable!

Guesthouse 71 owners Darrell and Dawna were also so welcoming. The couple have been in the tourism and hospitality industry for 15+ years and ran a successful gift store, tearoom and BnB from their family farm in Hanna, Alberta before moving just outside of Medicine Hat and continuing their Bed & Breakfast passion on their new property.

This is such a picture perfect place to stay in The Hat!
