There’s no shortage of ways to #ExploreEdmonton and that’s especially true when it comes to celebrating the New Year! Ringing in an entirely new decade deserves a big celebration, wouldn’t you agree? That’s why I’ve put together a few different ways you can ring in 2020 in Edmonton.
To be clear, this is only just a smattering of all that there is to do in Edmonton on New Year’s Eve! I really do mean there is no shortage of things to do!

1. Roaring 20s New Year’s Eve Charity Gala
How about we ring in the new year as they did in the old days? The ever popular Sugar Swing invites you to swing into the roaring twenties.

2. New Year’s Eve at West Edmonton Mall
Celebrate the new year at North America’s largest shopping centre.

3. New Year’s Downtown Festival & Fireworks
Welcome 2020 with your family and friends at the Alberta Legislature Grounds!
Description: This FREE family-friendly, alcohol-free event includes live music, puppet shows, roving performers, games, crafts, art installations, fire pits, main stage performances and more! There will be food trucks, fireworks, and extended hours of operation for the Legislative Assembly Visitor Centre, Agora Interpretive Centre, Alberta Branded, Borealis Gallery and Pehonan Theatre.

4. New Year’s Eve Burlesque Show & Cocktail Pairing
Get a little risque this NYE at the New Year’s Eve Burlesque Show & Cocktail Pairing presented by the Violette Underground and Woodwork.

In what has become an annual tradition for my in-laws, cheer on the Edmonton Oilers at their annual New Year’s Eve game!

19.New Year’s Eve at The Comic Strip with Keon Polee
Laugh your way into the new decade!
Description: Head to The Comic Strip at West Edmonton Mall for a New Year’s Eve laugh featuring Keon Polee. He was the 2011 Battle of the bay winner, 2012 Rooster T Feathers annual comedy competition winner and 2012 Flappers Uncle Clyde’s comedy competition winner. He was also a top finalist at the 2016 Big Sky Comedy Festival. He has performed internationally including in South Korea for the troops and Canada. You can see him on Aspire TV’s “We got next” season 2 and in the movie “Atilla” now on Netflix. He is also featured on internet radio/audio outlets such as Pandora, Spotify, Audible and SiriusXM.
