#TweetforHope – Hope Mission Radiothon: We raised enough to feed 2,060 people!

On Wednesday, Oct. 3 – I joined 15 other local tweeters to ‘Tweet for Hope’ for Hope Mission! It took 30 minutes longer than our original hour lunchtime goal but we managed to raise $5,562 to provide meals for 2,060 men, women and children who use Hope Mission’s services! :) We also became a trending topic in Edmonton on Twitter and according to TweetReach statistics – #TweetforHope reached nearly 27,000 people (number of unique people who saw our #TweetforHope tweets). Yay!

Thanks to Devin from Hope Mission for inviting me to take part in this. I always want to do more with charities in Edmonton and I find I don’t do it nearly as much as I’d like to or should – so this was kind of the perfect marriage of my social media interests and doing something charitable! I love the opportunities that present themselves through Twitter!!

Thanks to everyone who tweeted/retweeted and donated during our #TweetforHope Challenge – and just throughout the three-day radiothon in general. Sending good karma vibes and happy thoughts your way!

Linda
