Ellen’s Oscars celebrity #selfie got 1M+ retweets in an hour, now has more than 3M.

• On Oscars night, Ellen broke Twitter and set the record for most retweeted tweet of all time. Pretty amazing watching it unfold on Twitter that night! It now has more than 3 million retweets.

• I also thought it was interesting that Ellen used the Samsung in the front of stage for obvious sponsorship reasons, but reverts back to her iPhone for backstage photos! Wow, it really shows the difference in image quality doesn’t it?

• What you should not post on Facebook after your dad wins an $80,000 settlement.

• Facebook is ditching the @facebook.com email that no one ever used. Lol never. ever. used it.

• Twitter & Vine are hitting the big screen – one-minute sequences of ‘trending movie and entertainment content powered by Twitter and Vine’ will be shown at NCM-affiliated theatres.

• Did you hear about the disastrous $460 million Mt. Gox bitcoin meltdown?!

• Crowdfunding isn’t slowing down – Kickstarter surpasses $1 billion in pledges. I’m looking forward to watching the one Kickstarter campaign I’ve ever funded – the Veronica Mars Movie!!! – next week!

The theory about Andy’s mom’s true identity in Toy Story made the rounds on social media this past week!

• This theory about the identity of Andy’s mom in Toy Story was shared on social a LOT last week! Crazy!!

• That also led me to discover The Pixar Theory! I know I’m late to the party but WOW. Check out this fantastic blog post linking all Pixar movies together in the same universe – starting & ending with Brave. Nuts.

• Future is now ~ Facebook is in talks with drone maker Titan Aerospace.

The Google Maps Gallery is an ‘awesome time machine’. There’s also an Edmonton connection.

• Microsoft is making some changes to how Office 365 looks – bringing in social, machine learning technology.

• Interesting. Apple is collaborating with a hearing-aid company to develop a new hearing aid that’s compatible with Apple products.
