- Twitter is looking to take a big step into the world of e-commerce. Details scarce but a deal with mobile payment startup Stripe is in the works.
- More social networks copying social networks. Facbeook debuts Twitter-esque ‘trending’ feature, highlights popular conversations.
- This is quite the throwback. Give your browser some serious nostalgia with these emulator websites!
- This is another throwback! Will these social media ‘relics’ rise again? Digg, Friendster, MySpace… XANGA! Wow. Anyone remember Xanga?!?!
- Way to go BBC News. They’re trying to target social media users with Instagram video news. I find this really, really interesting and I’m impressed with BBC for trying it!
BBC News launches Instafax, new, short-form video news service delivered to Instagram users.
- Well this is new… Hackers use household devices like smart TVs and fridges to send malicious emails.
- Careful with your Emojis… Emoji death treats are admissible in court.
- It’s really not going anywhere guys! Chicago Sun-Times to test paywall that would accept bitcoins as payment.
- Have you heard about DAVIDsTEA #cupofwarmth campaign? Give a cup of warmth. Locally it supports the Edmonton Food Bank. The campaign runs until Nov. 28 and you can help with in-store purchases or by sharing on Facebook.

- Google just fixed one of the most annoying things about browsing the web! #thankyouGoogle
- More Google news – the company unveiled new smart contact lenses that let diabetics measure glucose levels. Interesting. I wouldn’t want a computer that close to my eye though…
- I meant to include this in last week’s links but forgot! Nominations are now open for the 2013 Yeggies (Edmonton New Media/Social Media Awards). Lots of great people to nominate. :) Last year’s event was a lot of fun to attend!
