Edmonton summers demand time spent on a patio!
With our what seems like endless sunshine (with sunsets at summer’s peak not setting until almost 11 p.m. at night!) that’s a whole lot of time to enjoy on one of the city’s many patios.
I’ve blogged about Edmonton Dog-Friendly Patios (first published 2017, last updated 2023) as well as Edmonton Winter Patios (first published n 2021), and in 2024 I started sharing a short video series about the Prettiest Patios in Edmonton! This blog post rounds up those videos into one neat spot and I will add to it as an ongoing list as I share more pretty patio videos.
All of the patios in this series I guarantee a great experience—whether from the overall vibes to the “pretty” factor, and of course, food, drinks, and service. You’ll notice every patio in the video is rated 10/10 too. While some locations I do prefer for food or drink over others, I intentionally wanted to rate each pretty patio 10/10 for the crux of what the patio’s point is in my series—that it’s pretty! 😉😘

At Little Brick, I love: 🏡 That the cafe is located in a charming and historic old brick house, first built in 1903. ❤️ That the patio stretches across the yard of the building and includes a few different spaces including a covered area. ✨ 🌱 The twinkly lights and greenery, including overgrown vines. ❤️ The pops of red. 🍳 The cute and tasty brunch items. 🥰 And of course the vibe! When our sun doesn’t set until almost midnight on those sunny summer days, I know you want to hit the patio!! ☀️ Find the prettiest hidden patio in this overgrown garden at Otto (and its new sister Tulip Sandwich Shoppe!) 🌱 At Otto, I love: 🌼 That the patio is located in this hidden from the street, overgrown garden filled with so many beautiful flowers! 🐝 That the bees are really thriving here. 🧺 That the patio seating is cute picnic tables. ✨ That there’s twinkly lights among all the greenery. 🎨 That there’s this beautiful mural by Scott Gallant and that the building offers some nice shade while you eat. 🥨 The food! Share Fuge Sausage, pretzels from Artistic Bake Shop, mac & cheese, pickles, sauerkraut, schnitzel, and more, plus some refreshing drinks! 🥂 ✨ And of course the vibe! Overall, 10/10. On this visit, my friend didn’t realize that the overgrown garden was Otto’s patio at first because from the street it just looks like someone’s fenced and green covered yard lol. When our sun doesn’t set until almost midnight on those sunny summer days, I know you want to hit the patio!! ☀️ Find an amazing rooftop patio at The Canadian Ice House in downtown Edmonton ICE District! Being surrounded by skyscrapers and above the action of the Moss Pit on game nights 🏒 is a very unique patio experience you won’t find anywhere else in the city. At the Canadian Ice House, I love: 🏙️ Being surrounded by skyscrapers 🌱 The green turf 🌼 The cute flowers 💨 The swinging seats (limited, request it!) 🍹 The fun drinks 🍳 The brunch (and anytime: Kactus cut chips with dill dip) 👦 It’s kid friendly until 9 p.m. ✨ And of course the vibe! We found it quiet on weekend mornings which was great but evening – game day vibes are electric! Overall, 10/10. (all my pretty patios get 10/10 for being pretty lol) Have you been?!
