Today’s Photo of the Day shows the “spumoni” gelato that I bought from the Italian Centre Shop today! I have been craving spumoni for over a week now. I first tried it at the Old Spaghetti Factory last year and could not find it at Safeway or Save on Foods and then I realized duh, it’s an Italian thing, the Italian centre should have it…

Spumoni gelato!

And they did! I have to say I prefer the one from the Old Spaghetti Factory. This take-home one had weird jelly/candy things in it that wasn’t too appealing for myself or Mike. The pistachio flavour also didn’t taste as good as I had remembered. But maybe things are never as good as you remember.

    Spumoni is Seasonal. Several places have it right now with all their Christmas themed flavors. Edy’s makes it. and Safeway Select. and Blue Bunny. they’re not quite as great as I remember from when I was little (is anything?) but they’re not bad. no weird jelly candies. . … oh also, friendly’s does a spumoni roll for Christmas time but it only has a strip of chocolate instead of a whole layer.
