Lindork’s So You Think You Can Dance Recap – Top 20 Performance Show Rankings

June 11 2009.

I’ll add more details and my opinions tomorrow (well technically later today, since it’s about 1 a.m. June 11 now), but for now after watching and re-watching routines, this is my ranking for tonight’s performances:

1. Phillip and Jeanine – Hip Hop
2. Ade and Melissa – Contemporary
3. Kupono and Ashley – Jazz
4. Jason and Caitlin – Bollywood
5. Randi and Evan – Jazz
6. Max and Kayla – Samba
7. Karla and Jonathan – Cha Cha
8. Paris and Tony – Hip Hop
9. Brandon and Jeanette – Foxtrot
10. Asuka and Vitolio – Broadway

I basically think routines/couples one through six were fabulous though. ♥

It was a greeeat kick off to the season and I’m so stoked that Wade is back.

What do you think?

Linda (:

  • I think you are right, 1-6 (on your list) were all fab. I esp. loved phillip and jeanine hip hop.

  • Lisa says:

You know I’ve got issues with the costume for Kupono & Ashley but I definitely agree that 1-6 were amazing. I think Vitolio and Paris are gonna have to dance for their lives. Paris’ partner Tony is memorable from the auditions and Vegas were I mostly remember Paris’ tutu. Vitolio because we never really got to ‘know’ him and I found the number a bit boring and my eyes sorta glazed over and I wondered what Ava was thinking and how your hair is so long and how long it’ll take for my hair to get that long. Etc… etc…

  • Joanna says:

I might put Tony and Paris below Brandon and Jeanette in terms of successful performance, but I’d definitely put Kupono and Ashley at the top. That may be a matter of taste, however. I think NappyTabs disappointed me by rehashing their hit dance from last year, and Wade’s choreo blows me away.

  • Linda Hoang says:

Yeah I think I just generally find foxtrots unappealing which is why they ranked so low but in terms of their skill and technique Brandon and Janette did do very well. Just then again compared to the first six routines, the performance just didn’t compare because those had right technique as well as great performance and style appeal.

I really loved the NappyTabs routine but I do agree it was highly reminiscent of Bleeding Love (I especially thought that Jeanine’s outfit looked so much like Chelsie’s Bleeding Love outfit), but Phillip did such an incredible job.

And of course Wade is always brilliant. I really want to see him do a hip hop piece this year as well. ♥

  • Linda Hoang says:

    Phillip was fabulous!!!!

  • Linda Hoang says:

Yes I know but I think you should re-watch it several more times and ignore the costumes and then see how you feel about it!

LOL you are hilarious I had no idea you were thinking about my hair during the broadway, LOL. ♥

  • Tommy says:

I don’t see anything wrong with her chin! I was sad to see her go :(

But there are many others that I have to root for. :)
