The exhibit “speaks to the current social anti-racist movement while illustrating that local Black people have been and will continue to produce compelling art every day” You need to pre-book your ticket online.

Food To Try This Week
Please safely support local restaurants. Review Alberta COVID-19 restrictions.
Try some Venezuelan arepas at El Fogon Latino (8026 118 Ave.)
I am a BIG fan of Venezuelan arepas. These are kind of like open faced soft tacos made from corn flour, stuffed with all sorts of fillings—from vegetarian to chicken, chorizo, ham or beef, and a lot of gouda cheese. Arepas are DELICIOUS. They’re also gluten-free! I love love love the arepas from El Fogon Latino and thanks to a donation from TELUS Business, I was able to buy 35 free arepas to gift to YOU this week! The first 35 people to head to El Fogon and mention TELUS + lindork will get a free arepa of your choice (while quantities last). I know you will LOVE them as much as I do!! If you’d like to win $500 to spend at a fav business of YOUR choice, check out TELUS’ #StandWithOwners campaign!
Enjoy the XIX Nineteen patio (5940 Mullen Way or 150 Bellerose Dr. St. Albert)
I had just the loveliest little patio date at XIX Nineteen last week. I always recommend a meal here! If you haven’t, or it’s been awhile since you have tried, consider heading there this week. The Ahi Tuna Twists are a must order, plus they have Aburi style pressed salmon sushi now (so good!), and a great pad thai. I also love their Pearjito drink. I’ve got other recommendations for dishes too if you end up going, just let me know and I’ll make some more suggestions!
Plan a downtown Edmonton electric patio crawl (various locations)
Over the weekend, Mike and I went on an electric patio crawl, riding our e-skateboard and e-scooter around to four different downtown patios. Copy out itinerary! Check out one or all of the spots we did: Shojo Izakaya, Bar Clementine, Campio Brewing Co., and Baijiu. If you don’t own your own e-rides, you can rent scooters almost everywhere in downtown Edmonton. Also: watch my Instagram Reels for some more inspiration!
Cafe Bicyclette reopens with a new menu (8627 91 St.)
French restaurant Cafe Bicyclette reopens this week (Thursday) with a brand new chef and menu. This place is home to one of the prettiest patios in the city (dog-friendly too!) and I’ve always had just the loveliest experience dining here. I look forward to trying their new menu! Let me know if you get there before me and what you think / what dish(es) you’d recommend!

Small Business Spotlight
In this new section of Lindork’s Lists, I shout out to support small businesses that aren’t necessarily food/restaurant or event-based.
In this week’s Small Business Spotlight, I’m shouting out to:
Beaver Creek Honey—a Sherwood Park-based business owned by Stefan and Monique who are chefs, educators, honey producers, adventurers, inventors and makers.
The duo create fresh, pure, all natural, locally-sourced, handmade and eco-friendly products. Beaver Creek makes a unique Smoked Honey (naturally smoked honey using locally-sourced wood!) which blends sweet and smoky flavours that work great in all sorts of recipes.
I partnered with Beaver Creek Honey to sample their Smoked Honey (check out my Instagram post to see what I made!) and am happy to introduce their honey for newsletter subscribers here too—a delicious sponsorship, I say! Order a jar (or a few) of Beaver Creek Smoked Honey and check out their other great products.

Coming This Sunday: Q&A with Keith Moore
Every other Sunday, I profile a new “interesting person” in a Q&A series just for paid newsletter subscribers. The next person I’ll be profiling on Sunday, June 27 2021 is Edmonton Photographer Keith Moore. The Q&A will be released publicly on this blog one month after paid subscribers get it!
Here’s an excerpt from our Q&A:
“The photography community is very supportive!! When I was starting out, I was at this location taking photos & then another photographer showed up. We started talking and that was the day I met Jeff Wallace (@wherezjeff) he gave me a few tips and even took the time to look up stuff online because he shoots Nikon & I’m a Canon shooter. The advice he gave me led to me selling one of my first prints. I’ll never forget that & I will always help people out if they need it or want to learn.” – Keith Moore
To get the full Q&A, plus a Q&A every other Sunday, access to exclusive paid subscriber-only giveaways, and to support the work I do, upgrade!
No pressure of course! These weekly emails for free subscribers (you!) will continue to be sent out.
