Food to Try This Week!
Try the new sandwich special from Farrow Sandwiches (various locations)
Farrow Sandwiches new special The Montreal Screwjob and it looks SO good. Montreal Smoked Meat, Mustard Hot Peppers, Pimento Cheese, Cajun Mayo, Tomato, Arugula. I will be getting one ASAP!
Consider booking a special occasion at Le Petit Chef (10344 102 St.)
I was invited to dine with the “world’s smallest chef”—Le Petit Chef at the JW Marriott Edmonton in downtown Edmonton ICE District and it was a really unique, immersive dinner theatre experience. Using 3D projection technology, your 5-course meal comes with a show where the smallest chef in the world “cooks” your food right onto your plate. The first 3 courses (salad representing Nice, bouillabaisse representing Marseille, lobster representing Roscoff) were our favourites of the night. Plus I was a big fan of the La Petit Parisienne strawberry drink! It’s a pricy night out and most people who book are doing so for some kind of celebration. I do recommend! It will be unlike any dinner experience you’ve ever had before.
Support the Brickhouse Smokery (Spruce Grove & West Edmonton Mall)
The well-known Wildhaus Beef Jerky has rebranded to Brickhouse Wildhaus. The story of why sounds wild (and sad). Perhaps a good time to give them some reassuring support at either their Spruce Grove or West Edmonton Mall locations this week. They have great jerky + pepperoni! (and more products).
Try the newest hot pot restaurant in west Edmonton (West Edmonton Mall)
West Edmonton Mall is now home to a hot pot restaurant Shoo Loong Kan! I’m trying it this week for my friend’s birthday. Super excited. It’s located at Europa Boulevard on the second floor (near the movie theatre). This is a global hot pot chain and it looks like Edmonton is their first expansion to Canada. The space looks very nice!
Check out restaurants with Canada’s Great Kitchen Party chef winners
Chef Doreen Prei (of Riverview at Glenora Park), Jason Greene (of Braven), and Julie Kundera (of Out of Bounds Restaurant) were the winners of Canada’s Great Kitchen Party. Consider checking out their restaurants to celebrate the win!
And here’s a few food events you may be interested in…
