iHuman Youth Society is hosting their second annual Art Walk this weekend Friday & Saturday Sept. 27 + 28 at their parking lot in downtown Edmonton. iHuman is an amazing organization dedicated to changing the trajectory of high-risk youth through arts programs, art therapy, and artistic mentorship. “For many of these young people, stepping up in front of their peers the public is a brave act of self expression and growth. Every brush stroke, every note, and every story is a testament to their resilience, creativity and courage. By performing and presenting, they are not just sharing their art art – they are reclaiming their voices and healing through community.”

Food to Try This Week!
Treat yourself to Paris Baguette (Whyte Ave. and West Edmonton Mall)
My sister-in-law treated us to some Paris Baguette desserts this week so I think you should do the same! (lol not treat me, treat you!) The French-inspired, South Korean-owned cafe franchise specializes in delicious pastries, warm breads, stunning cakes and expertly brewed drinks. They recently opened a second location inside West Edmonton Mall as well.
Check out a local restaurant featured in ‘Eating Edmonton’ docuseries
Episodes for Eating Edmonton, a locally-produced TELUS STORYHIVE docuseries featuring local restauranteurs, are now being released. How fun would it be to plan your next few meals out on the restaurants featured in the show? Taproot Edmonton has a nice write-up on it + locations to be featured including Aloha Hawaiian Poke and Grill, Irie Foods, Hanjan, Bernadette’s and more.
Visit Malina Ukrainian Bakery (Edmonton and Sherwood Park)
Malina Ukrainian Bakery is having a bit of a tough time with people pre-ordering and then not showing up to get their order (they’re changing the process now so prepayment is required). Considering popping into either their south Edmonton or Sherwood Park locations for some sweet and savoury treats this week!
Eat some anchovies (various locations)
While in Barcelona I ate a lot of anchovies lol. It was really good! If you’re looking to satisfy an anchovy craving in Edmonton, I looked up a few anchovy dishes you might consider trying including the anchovy toast from Darling (I have had this and it is really good!) or anchovy crostini from Bar Bricco, an anchovy pizza from Tony’s or Allegro Italian Kitchen, pasta with anchovies from May, an anchovy fish fry from Masalaz, anchovy edamame from Japonais or just pick some up at the Italian Centre Shop! Salty goodness, if you haven’t had it I think you’d really enjoy!
Enjoy my favourite lunch hot pot combo in town (10602 97 St.)
I am back in Edmonton after three weeks in Europe and my first meal out was with my mom getting our favourite lunch hot pot deal from 97 Hot Pot in Edmonton Chinatown. The quality + quantity is unbeatable at $17.95 for a soup base of your choice + 6 items. (Technically my first meal back was my parents Vietnamese beef noodle soup King Noodle House Pho Hoang but I count it more as a family meal than a meal “out” lol).
And here’s a few food events you may be interested in…

There’s a Snack Tour happening at Lucky 97 Supermarket on Sept. 28.
