Participate in the Run/Walk for Reconciliation (Lions Park, St. Albert)
On July 1, the annual Run/Walk for Reconciliation returns to Lions Park in St. Albert. It’s FREE to attend (I’ll be walking!) but they do ask that you register so they get a sense of numbers and ribbons to bring. From organizers:
“Start your Canada Day by first honouring its history and join us for the 4th annual Run-Walk for Reconciliation. As you run or walk you can reflect on what reconciliation means for you. There will be Indigenous drummers, dancers and some artisans on site.”

Food to Try This Week!
Get tickets to The Meuwly’s Summer Kitchen Party (10706 124 St.)
Your favourite local charcuterie shop Meuwly’s is putting on the second annual Meuwly’s Summer Kitchen Party this Thursday, June 27 in support of In The Weeds YEG (a mental health initiative supporting hospitality workers). Your ticket includes local food, drink, beats, oyster bar, 6-foot long charcuterie table, wine, beer, spirits and more! Should be a super fun (and tasty + filling) night.
Check out Edmonton’s first non-alcoholic (Zero Proof) bar (11909 Jasper Ave.)
SPILT Zero Proof Bar, Edmonton’s first dedicated non-alcoholic bar is NOW OPEN! Check out their opening hours and plan your visit. Sample the delicious mocktails, grab a few bites, snap some cute pics, plan a future event in the beautiful (but small) space! Congratulations to the SPILT team on their opening!
Take advantage of Liuyishou Edmonton’s new lunch combo (9700 105 Ave.)
Liuyishou Edmonton in Chinatown has brought back their great Chinatown Dining Week deal—$19.95 for 1 Soup Base, 3 Kinds of Meats, 3 Kinds of Vegetables, 1 Staple Food and 1 Soft Drink for dine-in before 4 p.m. It also includes access to some of their cooked appetizers. I am usually a sucker for 97 Hot Pot’s lunch combo but mom and I enjoyed switching things up a bit with a visit to Liuyishou this week. Ask for their free bib to avoid soup splatters lol and be aware their spicy soup is *very* spicy so my tip is to order one of the non-spicy broths and just add your own!
Experience a Glass of the Sask (various locations)
EPCOR’s annual summer campaign Glass of the Sask returns this June celebrating things that make Edmonton special—like our drinking water, which is sourced from the North Saskatchewan River! From June 27 to July 4 (or until sell out), you can buy Glass of the Sask carafes, water bottles, and other merch at the Edmonton Arts Council’s Shop on Churchill Square (9930 102 Ave.) Then watch for your water to come out in Glass of the Sask carafes at a number of restaurants around the city throughout the summer, including Nineteen XIX, Bodega Tapas & Wine Bar, SABOR, High Dough, Dalla Tavola Zenari, Mãi Mãi – Viet Street Kitchen, Sauce Caribbean, SPILT Zero Proof Bar, (really any restaurant in the city giving you water is using North Saskatchewan River water though lol).
Grab ready-to-eat and other meat treats from Popowich Meat Company
Ahead of the weekend we grabbed some easy meat + ready-to-eat treats from Popowich Meat Company in west Edmonton (6853 170 St.) including really tasty pulled beef and pork, bacon, their take on jalapeño poppers, loaded potato skins, pepperoni and more! It made our camping trip food quick + delicious. The family-owned butcher has a great selection of ready to cook items and retail partner goodies.
And here’s a few food events you may be interested in…
El Mero Mero Taqueria is celebrating their two-year anniversary on June 30.
The Grand Duelling Piano Show is back at Central Social Hall on June 30.
Get tickets to Duchess Bake Shop x RGE RD Afternoon Tea on Sunday, July 7!
