Go Oilers Go! Take in FREE Game Day Concerts (Fan Park at ICE District)
Did you hear? Shania Twain and Our Lady Peace are performing FREE shows from 4-6 p.m. at the Fan Park in ICE District (next to Rogers Place) ahead of Game 3 and Game 4 this Thursday June 13 and Saturday June 15. Go early to grab a great spot.
Here’s a few ideas for Father’s Day…
Dad might like a visit to ‘Yesterday’s Auto Gallery’—a Classic Car Gallery in south Edmonton. I know it’s a stereotype (dads and cars lol) but I actually think my dad would love this. This is Canada’s largest classic car collection! There’s even a diner inside.
Edmonton’s largest, FREE, Father’s Day celebration the Father’s Day Car Show, takes place this Sunday, June 16 in south Edmonton. There will be show cars, a Family Fun Zone, kids programs, Father’s Day programming in the auditorium, food trucks, vendors and more.
There’s a Father’s Day Extravaganza (Brunch, Axes, Beer) with Sherbrooke Community League on Sunday, June 16.
Family Fun has a round-up of even more great Father’s Day ideas!
There’s a few markets going on this weekend…
Wholly Handmade’s June Night Market is this weekend June 15 & 16 in Sherwood Park featuring 135+ artisans and crafters.
“A Weekend Market” runs this June 15 & 16 in Old Strathcona featuring 35 vendors both days.

From June 20-23, experience the Alberta Circus Arts Festival!
Come one, come all, from June 20th – 23rd, 2024 for the Alberta Circus Arts Festival, hosted by Firefly Theatre and Circus. Check out four days of Canadian contemporary circus performances, along with FREE activities for everyone! There’s circus skill workshops for beginners through professionals, panels and discussions on art and life, and a fabulous Friday Circus Happy Hour – 5@Cirque! You will be treated to a world-class Canadian contemporary circus on an intimate scale. It’s like seeing Cirque du Soleil in your living room!
On June 22, attend a Drive In Movie at Marquis West!
Picture this: buttery popcorn, sweet candy and a giant screen flickering to life in the cozy comfort of your car!! Whether you’re cuddled up with blankets in the back seat or lounging in camping chairs by the trunk, it’s a cinematic experience unlike any other and you can find it at Marquis West, a new community in Northeast Edmonton.
Before the movie begins on Saturday, June 22, enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities and treats. Indulge in popcorn and candy favourites from yesteryear plus tour exceptional show homes by Morrison, Bedrock, Homes by Avi, Coventry and Jayman.
Your $15 ticket covers one parking spot for a vehicle, free pre-show activities, complimentary food trucks, drinks, popcorn and treats! PLUS ticket holders will receive one complimentary swag item! And proceeds support Edmonton Garrison Military Family Resource Centre.
On June 26, Sip on the Sask in support of CASA Mental Health!
The Zin on the River fundraiser presented by Concrete Blonde and JDK Group returns to the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald on Wed, June 26, in support of CASA Mental Health.
CASA’s services fill in the missing middle. These are services for kids whose mental illness is too complex to be cared for in the community and by physicians alone. They should also never have to end up in the hospital.
At Zin on the River, enjoy an evening of live entertainment, fine wine and scotch tastings, plus a sampling of charcuterie and desserts. Proceeds from the event support child, youth and family mental health in Alberta!!
Thanks to CASA Mental Health for supporting my small business with this sponsored message.

Try Shiddy’s Distilling and Flat Boy Burgers (9908 78 Ave.)
The new Shiddy’s Distilling and Rumpus Room is now open in south Edmonton, and Flat Boy Burgers is now slinging from the same space too! It looks like super cool vibes and I’ve only heard rave reviews about the burgers.

Ribfest is back at Central Park in Spruce Grove from June 14-16, featuring food (ribs and more), live music, a vendor market, family activities and more! It is FREE to attend.
Order marinated meats from Kryptonite (Email or Call to order)
At the Sari Sari Filipino Market over the weekend I got to sample some pork belly by home-based / licensed business Kryptonite, who specialize in marinated meats, and it was great! My friend also raves about their chicken (their specialty). Need to place an order!!
Try the dim sum and steam buns from Xing Wang Steam Buns (10810 98 St.)
While in Chinatown over the weekend I popped into the new Xing Wang Steam Buns. This restaurant specializes in their buns of course (which you can also buy frozen to go), along with various dim sum items including Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings!) The dumplings are not as good as Shanghai 456 but nice to have this steam bun spot and another dim sum option! Food came out pretty quick and was well-priced!
