This Sunday: Q&A with Carly Gordon
Every other (ish) Sunday, I try to profile a new “interesting person” in a Q&A series just for paid newsletter subscribers. The next person I’ll be profiling this Sunday, March 3 is Carly Gordon, an Edmonton-based artist.
Here’s an except from the Q&A:
“Many artists have a valid gripe with social media in that it pulls us away from the creative practice and flow, and sets expectations of filming and sharing every little thing only to have the algorithm deliver it to a small part of our audience (beyond artists – many other people feel this too). As much as I may complain about having to incorporate a new feature or pay for my audience to actually see things, social media has given me the opportunity of a lifetime that I wouldn’t otherwise have. To be able to build my own audience and share my art with them AND make sales from it that support my career has been, without a doubt, life changing.” – Carly Gordon
