A very magical winter festival Flying Canoe Volant returns this week Jan. 31 to Feb 3 at Mill Creek Ravine, La Cite Francophone and Ecole Rutherford School. This festival celebrates your inner voyageur with light, music, legends and dance—inspired by French Canadian, First Nations and Metis traditions. It’s a really lovely event! Check out the schedule and plan your visit.
And here’s a few more winter activities happening this weekend:
Head to WinterFest at the Castle Downs Park Pavilion on Sun, Feb. 4 from noon to 3 p.m. It’s free to attend and there will be hot chocolate, sleigh rides, skating at the rink and fun in the snow. A cute lil winter community event.

Plan to celebrate Family Day weekend at the Winspear Centre!

On Saturday, Feb. 17, step into the streets of 1920s New York City, where a newspaper boy has a chance encounter with the famous composer, George Gershwin.
Classical Kids Live! presents this theatrical production featuring your Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, with ESO Resident Conductor Cosette Justo Valdés at the podium. Learn about and be entertained by the extraordinary life and musical masterpieces of one of the greatest American composers of all time!
Gershwin’s most enduring pieces of music are magically woven into a dramatic story as two actors share anecdotes and observations based on true stories from the iconic composer. This show is “far and away the best for introducing children to classical music!” 🎶🎵🎶
Thanks to the Winspear Centre for supporting my small business with this sponsored message!
