I shared some Red Deer Dining inspiration based on a recent Tourism Red Deer partnership/trip I made to the Central Alberta city located just 1.5 hours between Edmonton and Calgary! Plan your day trip / getaway and explore Red Deer’s local eats! I am also giving away a Red Deer Prize Pack over on the blog so do enter.
Pokemon Day was this week (celebrating the day 27 years ago when Pokemon debuted), so I thought it was a good time to blog a Look Inside Our Pokemon-themed Baby Shower! (plus other baby shower details like games/activities, food, etc.)
Small Business Spotlight
Congrats to Sophie Gray and her team on the opening of DiveThru, a new Edmonton-based mental health space / community. Their 10151 81 Ave. Old Strathcona exterior says “You can cry here” lol. The studio has nine therapists with varying specialties and you can do a ‘Therapist Match’ to see who might be a good fit for you. My friend Dr. Lily Le, a registered psychologist, is also their Director of Clinical Innovation.
Some News to Know
I’m piloting a new newsletter section sharing a few local / national news you may be interested in each week—from light and heartwarming to hopeful, political & more!
Shrek fans may want to check out this eight-foot-tall Shrek and Donkey snow sculpture in Sherwood Park!
The City of Edmonton will now permanently allow alcohol in 18 city parks following a successful pilot program.
Dead before it began. The city is reopening a downtown stretch of 102 Ave. to vehicles despite asking administration for a bylaw to keep it closed to vehicles.
Critics are calling out the 2023 Alberta budget as “definitely an election budget.” Don’t let them fool you into getting your votes this May.
