Things to Do This Week

We’re still in a pandemic! Please mask up, stay home if sick, and get vaccinated/boosted.

Lindorks Lists 142 - Things to Do Eat Know This Week Explore Edmonton Food Events Restaurants 2
Things to do this week: The Price is Right Live, lots of market options, Remembrance Day ceremonies and more!
  • Take in Remembrance Day ceremonies (various locations)

  • Check out the Edmonton Potters’ Guild Annual Sale (9210 118 Ave.)

  • Shop The Carrot Christmas Arts Bazaar (9351 118 Ave.)

  • Shop the Hello Pretty Market (Red Willow Place – 7 Tache St, St. Albert)

    • Edmonton and area’s “prettiest market” Hello Pretty Market returns this weekend Nov. 12 and 13 10 am. to 4 p.m. at Red Willow Place in St. Albert, featuring 50+ vendors, swag bags for the first 25 shoppers, complimentary caricatures from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mrs. Claus storytime at 12 p.m., gift wrapping by donation and more. Reserve a FREE spot so they have an idea for numbers (or just show up!)

  • Stop into The Market Off Whyte Indie Craft & Art Fair (8426 Gateway Blvd.)

    • Basically from now through December I’ll be primarily highlighting markets lol. The Market Off Whyte Indie Craft & Art Fair returns to the Old Strathcona Performing Arts Centre this Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring 45 local and province-wide vendors. FREE to attend!

  • Catch Anime Movie Night at Art Gallery of Alberta! (2 Sir Winston Churchill Sq.)

  • Come on down to The Price is Right Live (River Cree Resort & Casino)

    • The Price is Right Live returns to the River Cree Resort & Casino this weekend Nov 11-13. It’s an interactive stage show that gives individuals a chance to “come on down” and play classic games from TV’s longest-running and most popular game show! I’ve always wanted to go to this show, lol.

Got an Edmonton area event, virtual event, or something coming up you think my readers would be interested in knowing about? Let me know!

Food to Try This Week

Please continue safely supporting local restaurants, in whatever way works for your comfort levels. If not dining in, please do take-out! Mask-up and please stay home if you’re sick.

Eats this week: Poutine Dip Sandwich, Pay What You Can Ice Cream, North Edmonton Japanese Fusion and more!
  • Grab some Kind Ice Cream during Pay What You Can Day (various locations)

    • Kind Ice Cream, located in Highlands (6507 112 Ave.) and Ritchie (9551 76 Ave.) are doing a Pay What You Can Day this Sunday, Nov. 13—“Get any scoop, any size, and pay what you can (yes, even if that’s $0.00).” Expect lines!

  • Plan your next taco Tuesday (various locations)

    • In light of recent news of a local taco shop’s pest infestation (🤮), there’s been discussion for taco alternatives so Im sharing a few—try Calle Mexico, MARIA Restaurant, Azucar Taco House, El Mariachi, and well, actually so many more—there are a lot of taco spots in town! lol. What’s your favourite??

  • Check out new Japanese restaurant Gintaro Japanese Kitchen (11850 145 Ave.)

  • Eat at one of my #YEGFoodFaves for a chance to win! (various locations)

    • There’s been a lot of people checking out the Edmonton Food Faves list my friend Sharon and I recently put out (thank you!!) but not too many people entering our contest (your chances to win are pretty high!) Just eat and share about eating at one of the spots on the list, tag us and #YEGFoodFaves, and you’re entered for a chance to win a gift card to a different spot on the list! Check the entry details + full list over on my blog.

    • If you’re in the Alberta Avenue area for the events listed above, pop into Samosa House and try their delicious samosas!!

  • Try the new Arby’s Poutine Dip Sandwich (various locations)

    • As an Arby’s Canada Ambassador (#ArbysCanada_Partner), I got a sneak peek of their limited-time feature Poutine Dip Sandwich and it was pretty epic. It’s basically their poutine on top of roast beef in a sandwich, with extra gravy for dipping! Available at all Arby’s locations—go give it a try!!

  • Celebrate XIX’s 10-year anniversary (5940 Mullen Way)

    • One of my favourite restaurants XIX Nineteen is celebrating their 10-year Anniversary! I’ve talked up their ahi tuna twists before and I’ll say it again—if you haven’t tried, go go go! I just learned their pastry chef has been there since Day 1 too—the warm butter cake is also amazing.

Eaten something amazing recently? Want to show some love to a struggling restaurant? Have a take-out suggestion? Let me know to include in this newsletter.
