I’m so excited to add Kelowna, British Columbia to my list of Instagrammable Wall Guides!
Finding Instagrammable Walls—mural walls, colourful walls, texture walls, really just any wall that photographs well—is one of my favourite ways to explore places I’m visiting.
Kelowna is a gorgeous city in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, frequented by visitors from all over but also a lot of Albertans make Kelowna their go-to summer destination (for good reason!)
On this particular (sponsored) visit with AMA Travel and Best Western, I wasn’t focused on finding Instagrammable Walls but the nice part about always keeping an eye out for these walls is that you notice them everywhere pretty quickly and easily, and once I saw there was a big, bright pink wall (the dream wall! I’m trying to find those in ALL cities), I was determined to find enough material for a Guide!
My whole thing is that Instagrammable Walls don’t just have to be murals! Colourful buildings count too, and these make excellent Instagrammable Walls especially if you can find a stretch of uninterrupted wall tall and wide enough for you.
My general rule of thumb for what makes a wall Instagrammable is whether or not you can be photographed at the wall’s base, whether you can have uninterrupted wall as your background (no windows or doors getting in the way), and whether you’d like to post it on your Instagram (that pretty, Instagrammable aesthetic!) Usually I don’t count indoor walls because they’re a bit more challenging to photograph (in a non awkward way), but sometimes indoor walls are too great to pass up! Not all murals and all walls are Instagrammable by my definition (and of course there are always exceptions lol).

Guide to Instagrammable Walls of Kelowna, B.C.

LOCATION: Wooden Log Wall inside Little Hobo Soup & Sandwich Shop (596 Leon Ave., Kelowna, B.C.)
Note: I typically try to avoid indoor Instagrammable Walls because it can be awkward to get the photo if the spot is busy, however if you’re lucky and grab the corner at Little Hobo Soup & Sandwich Shop (the soup is really, really good!!!) then you can definitely photograph yourself up against this log wall!

This mural is the first in a series of new murals being added to the Uptown Rutland neighbourhood of Kelowna in Summer 2019! Depending on when you visit, many more in the area may be completed!

Note: dine at Salt & Brick for great food and the opportunity to snap a photo at their gorgeous floral Instagrammable Wall! There’s also a great neon sign you can pose with too (below).

Note: E Taco is located outside but the mural is within their little patio! We didn’t have time to stop for tacos or snap a closer picture of the wall but if you’ve got time, grab a taco, snap a photo.
LOCATION: Colour Wall inside Moolix (239 Bernard Ave., Kelowna, B.C.)
Note: another indoor wall… look Kelowna interiors are very Instagrammable! Grab ice cream here for this snap!

LOCATION: Art Walls at Liquidity Wines (4720 Allendale Rd., Okanagan Falls, B.C.)
Okay this is not IN Kelowna, it’s about an hour 15 minutes south of Kelowna in Okanagan Falls but I LOVED this winery and how it also is essentially an art gallery!! And not a snobby one, lol. Snap photos against or of lots of great art pieces here, there’s a lot of. large format ones that make great Instagrammable Walls!
BONUS INSTAGRAMMABLE SPOTS:
LOCATION: Pick a beach, any beach.
So that’s just a FEW of the Instagrammable Walls I was able to get to during my Kelowna visit!
