Edmontonians love their burgers and I feel like in recent years there’s been an influx in higher-end burger chains in the city. Well, when I say higher-end, don’t get me wrong, it’s not fine dining and still very reminiscent of a fast food burger joint, but places like Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Smashburger or Fatburger were definitely meant to be a more attractive, more burger-focused, definitely more hip option than say a Burger King or McDonalds.
I had no idea there was a new(ish) restaurant in Edmonton called White Spot – that also specializes in burgers until they recently reached out and asked me if I’d be interested in doing a burger giveaway for readers.
White Spot originated in B.C. back in 1928 but now has locations in Edmonton, Calgary, and Leduc. It’s apparently Canada’s longest-running restaurant chain now in its 87th year! (How have I never heard of it?) And they would likely be more in line with burger-focused actual sit-down casual restaurants like Soda Jerks, Delux Burger, Red Robins, etc. Very family-friendly/family-oriented.
In Edmonton, the White Spot is located at the Four Points Sheraton on 10010 12 Avenue (far south). The Leduc location is not too far off – at 5230 50 Ave.
I haven’t tried White Spot yet (it’s been so busy this month) but I’m planning to get down there before October 11 to try their new 50/50 burgers and I hope you’ll try them too (for free) by entering my giveaway! White Spot has developed three new 50/50 Burgers that are running as specials Sept. 8 – Oct. 11. A 50/50 Burger is a burger patty that “combines the best of both worlds” (really though) – it’s half beef and half double-smoked bacon. Droooools.
The Classic Diner limited time 50/50 Burger at White Spot. Photo supplied.
Their three new specials are the Classic Diner 50/50 Burger – which is described as a new twist on an old favourite with caramelized onions, cheese & Dijon mayo. ($13.99)
The PBBJ limited time 50/50 Burger at White Spot. Photo supplied.
The PBBJ 50/50 Burger – which features crunchy peanut butter, savoury bacon jam, pickled jalapeños, lettuce & tomato. ($14.99)
The Hawaiian limited time 50/50 Burger at White Spot. Photo supplied.
And the Hawaiian 50/50 Burger – where you’re encouraged to go tropical with candied bacon, savoury bacon jam, tangy fresh pineapple, lettuce & red onion. ($15.49)
You can learn more about the new premium bacon & beef burgers here.
Enter to win a free 50/50 burger at White Spot!
I think it’s a nice opportunity to introduce yourself to this fairly unheard of in Edmonton restaurant while trying out a cool 50/50 burger concept (I’ve never had a half this and half that patty before period, so I’m looking forward to this!)
I’m giving away two sets of two certificates for free 50/50 burgers (so I will select two winners, who will each get 2 certificates so you can go with a friend!) (The certificate says limit one coupon per visit but I’ve been told that you can use more than one coupon for the visit if you win!)

Please note you will need to coordinate with my schedule to pick up the coupons (and you need to do it/try the Edmonton or Leduc White Spot locations before October 11 for the coupons to be valid). Have never been to the White Spot. But the burger looks delish!
Whitest is alberta has always been a disappointment in the past….. but it has been a few years. It’s always a staple for me in BC though. Maybe this is a good chance to give them a new try! Thanks Linda
The hawaiian one sounds incredible! That’s my choice!
Obviously the PBBJ one is the winner. Peanut butter AND bacon? That’s a complete meal right there.
The PBBJ burger looks intriguing.
Would love to try the Hawaiian 50/50 Burger so enjoy sweetness of the pineapple
I have never been to the one here, but often in BC. Kind of Denny’s meets Moxies. I am torn between the PBBJ and Hawaiian though. They both look delish!

The Hawaiian. I love bacon and pineapple. Edmonton location please
50/50 can’t go wrong
I like to keep things simple first then work my way up so I’d try the Classic first!
I want to try the classic because “caramelized onions” is my middle name.
Pb and jelly always is a winner for me!
