Chaplin’s Time Traveler!

Shares

This morning I heard about the Charlie Chaplin Time Traveler video that’s taken over the Internet.

An Irish filmmaker made the discovery when he was watching a DVDs Extras clip from the 1928 Charlie Chaplin movie “Circus.”

It shows the Hollywood premier event of the movie and in it there is a clip of a woman walking and talking with her hand pressed up against her ear holding what appears to be SOME sort of object! People (and the filmmaker who made the discovery) are saying that the object is a cell phone (because the way the lady is talking and the way her hand/head is positioned really makes it look like the way a person would talk into a cell phone). Obviously since there were no cell phones in 1928 — this has led many, many people (including myself!) into believing that this person is a TIME TRAVELER!!!!!!

This is the video I’m talking about:

What do you think?

It has sparked a LOT of online debate and a lot of people saying that the person is not a time traveler and the object is not a cell phone.

The biggest argument against the time travel notion that a lot of people have brought up and continue to bring up (at least in my readings/Internet browsing into this), is that “there wouldn’t be any reception/cell towers/signal in 1928.”

Which, in my opinion, IS SUCH A STUPID ARGUMENT!

Hello!! If someone is TIME TRAVELING then obviously they are coming from a future date where we don’t know what technology there is or how advanced the technology has come along so who is to say that cell phones in the future wouldn’t be able to function with a freaking tower?! Maybe not a cell phone but SOME KIND OF COMMUNICATION DEVICE THAT WOULDN’T BE IN 1928 ANYWAY! How can people be so quick to dispute something or so narrow-minded?

I just really felt compelled to write a blog post about it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I know, so fine if you don’t believe it’s time travel then fine, do your thing but it’s just really been itching at me all day how some people can’t even open their minds a teeny bit to the POSSIBILITY that something like that (time travel/cell phones being used in a time period where there aren’t towers for them) could happen! I just don’t get why fathoming something that seems ridiculous or crazy is so hard for some people.

I am a believer!! I believe in a LOT of things. I believe in conspiracies, I believe in weird/supernatural stuff. I believe in time travel! I just have an open mind to various situations and things. It’s just hard for me to swallow that with the way our world is advancing technologically, with the strange events we hear happening each and every day, that some people can still just flat out say ‘No. That is impossible.’ You know?

I just had to get that off my chest! So I apologize if it doesn’t seem like I am “respecting” other people’s opinions but there were some people I spoke with today about the video and they were just so flat-out rude and mocking MY opinion that it was just bugging me and I really just had to say my peace. I wish some people could just be more open-minded. I believe anything is possible and I wish more people did too! (Even though I understand that many people around the world have and would jump at the notion that this lady with the object is a time traveler).

I get that it could be a number of things as well! A hoax – yes it could be. She could have been using a really old model hearing aid – another possibility. I just think if you’re able to think that it is a hoax or that there is a reasonable explanation for it, you should also be able to think that MAYBE it could be something a little bit more crazy and unreasonable!

If this does end up being debunked and it is some big hoax, fine, but it doesn’t change the fact that people shouldn’t be so quick to say “No. Not Possible. That’s a ridiculous notion. It makes no sense.”

*breathes*

To conclude, reading a LOT of theories (very interesting theories!!) and watching the video gives me GOOSEBUMPS! It’s thrilling really.

THE END!

Man, I’m keeping my eye on this Hoang kid. She keeps
popping up with yet more interesting facets. I did a course on
“Camera Truthiness” a few years back, and the lesson learned was
that the camera can “lie”. Even when you are certain that one thing
is happening, you see it from another perspective or angle, it
becomes obvious it was something else entirely. That being said, I
do not dis-believe, because their are so many things we don’t know,
or understand. Linda’s perspective is readable, interesting, and

  • Wow thank you so much! I wasn’t expecting this kind of comment!

Yeah our mind can play some crazy tricks on us :-)

Glad you’re something of a believer! Thank you again for your comment/compliments. Made my day (Internet-wise, haha).
