Tune into my weekly YouTube video blog Lindork Does Life! In Ep. 27, I cook Vietnamese food with my mom!!! This will be the first of hopefully many different cooking videos I do with mom. In this episode, we make Thịt ram (caramelized pork belly) and Canh sườn khoai tây cà rốt (pork rib, potato and carrot soup).
As an ode to Heritage Festival and celebrating delicious, cultural cuisine, I’m blogging my mom’s recipe for one of my favourite dishes of my heritage—Vietnamese Thịt Kho Mắm Ruốc (Pork In Fermented Shrimp Sauce). It’s pungent—and delicious! Serve over rice with cucumbers and you’ve got yourself a classic, comforting Vietnamese meal.
