At least 12 deaths in Western Canada have been linked to the toxic chemical paramethoxymethamphetamine (PMMA). In recent months seven people have died in Calgary, five in B.C. The dangerous chemical is being added to ecstasy. Alberta Health Services took their warnings to Twitter on Feb 3, 2012.
The Edmonton Awesome foundation encourages Edmontonians to submit their “awesome” idea. On the last Thursday of each month the foundation awards $1,000 to the person with the best idea, to help them with their project. It’s part of a number of Awesome Foundations worldwide.
