Review: 10-Course Home Sushi Party!

Linda Hoang - July 29, 2016
Vinh Sushi - Edmonton - Home Sushi Party

As part of my birthday week this year, I decided to throw a home sushi party catered by local private sushi chef Vinh Tran! I first heard of Vinh Tran and his home sushi parties a couple years ago on Instagram (@vinhsushi). Currently Vinh is a sushi chef at Mt. Fuji (which – fun fact – happens to be the restaurant Mike and I went to …

Giveaway: $50 Gift Card to Edo Japan – Happy International Sushi Day!

Linda Hoang - June 18, 2015

Today (June 18) is International Sushi Day! < insert tons of sushi emojis here > I’m a big, big, big fan of sushi – well, Japanese food in general. I always say if I had to pick just three food genres that I had to eat for the rest of my life, Japanese would be in that top three. There’s a lot of great Japanese …

Review: Kenko Japanese Restaurant

Linda Hoang - January 4, 2014

Mike and I tried one of Edmonton’s newest Japanese restaurants on Saturday night: Kenko! Kenko is located in a business park at 9543 42 Avenue and actually shares it’s space with Korean restaurant B-Bim-Baab. There’s no exterior signage (yet) but if you go into the front entrance for B-Bim-Baab you’ll find a separate door leading to Kenko. They just opened three months ago! Kenko is …

Review: Japonais Bistro

Linda Hoang - November 25, 2013

Review: Sushi Garden

Linda Hoang - March 22, 2012

I believe it’s a fairly new restaurant, replacing what used to be a Lee Garden on Mayfield Road. It’s also right by a motel and shares its main signage with the motel’s sign, which I think is unfortunate and a little odd …

Review: Kyoto

Linda Hoang - March 17, 2012

On Friday night I had a girls dinner out with my friends Meghan and Alyssa! Whenever we do our catch up dinners we tend to gravitate towards Japanese restaurants so for this one we ended up going to Kyoto Downtown (10128 109 Street). We’ve all been to Kyoto before and have had great experiences. I wanted to go again because I hadn’t ever blogged about …

Review: Nomiya

Linda Hoang - February 16, 2012

A couple weeks ago I had a dinner date at the Japanese restaurant Nomiya (3803 Calgary Trail) with my friend Brandi (@bihuniayukyuk). I had been wanting to try out Nomiya for some time now since it’s right next to Wild Wing (which I’ve been to twice in the past year, haven’t made a blog review for it yet lol) and Twisted Yogurt (which I’ve also …
