Round-up: Cat-related April Fools’ Day jokes

Each year I always look forward to seeing the funny and creative jokes/pranks/videos that different companies put out for April Fools’ Day! This year there seemed to be a lot of jokes that focused on cats. Because cats.

Here’s a round-up of some of the best ones I found (and laughed) about today, because I love cats!!!!

Cats by Opera – web browser for cats

“So much of the stuff on the internet is based around cats, but there is no browser for cats to experience this. We realized we had to fix this. We make browsers for a living, and cuddle with our cats in the evening. They have tiny paws, so accuracy can be a real problem for them. We haven’t just scaled an interface and thrown some features into the browser, but we’ve really tried to think how the perfect browser for cats would look. I think we’ve got it right, and, today, the result is in the Cat Store.”

Google Emojify the Web (honourable cat mention)

“The Chrome team is excited to announce Google Translate support for Emoji built directly into Chrome for Android and iOS. You can now read all your favorite web content using efficient and emotive illustrations on your phone and tablet… We were looking towards improving very complex emotions like laughing you’re hard so you’re crying, and you’re a cat.”

Did I miss any?!
