Preview + Giveaway: Family Feast at The Rec Room (Enter to win $150 Gift Card)

When I tell Mike we’re going to The Rec Room, or I want to go to The Rec Room, his reaction is always: “Oh, I love The Rec Room!” We both do. Since opening its first location in South Common last year (2016), followed by its more recent West Edmonton Mall spot, The Rec Room has become a pretty great place for food and entertainment in our city.

There are multiple restaurants and bars, private dining rooms, and a ton of amusement games, along with live musicians, comedians, and karaoke, all in one building.

The Rec Room has done a solid job always having some kind of entertainment happening in its building, whether it’s showing a game, hosting a trivia night, having live bands perform, launching a brunch menu, or putting on their upcoming Family Feast event taking place Sunday, Nov. 12 starting at 6 p.m.

FAMILY FEAST AT THE REC ROOM

This culinary event takes place in one of The Rec Room’s many private rooms. For $35, you get pickle brined fried chicken, your choice of a selection of sides including smashed fried potatoes, mixed greens, crispy brussel sprouts, and black pepper gravy, and apple crisp for dessert, served family-style. Think of it like Sunday Dinner!

This is the first Family Feast event The Rec Room has done. They really wanted to showcase their culinary offering in a fun and social way so featuring some of Fall menu favourties served family style felt like a fun way to do it. The West Edmonton Mall location is also a Family Feast on Nov. 26! If these events are successful, The Rec Room will look at doing similar culinary feasts, different seasonal menus, more often!

After you’re done eating, you’re of course welcome to take in all the activities and entertainment The Rec Room has to offer! Mike and I will be going and can’t wait to eat and play some games. Join us at the event by reserving your tickets via email.

  • Anika says:

I’ve been to the South Common and West Edmonton locations and love the types of games they have that adults don’t really get the chance to play anymore. The wristband aspect is effective and they look good. Plus the prize shop is one of the best parts!

  • Tammy says:

Virtual Reality is so much fun if you haven’t tried it! An hour goes by and it feels like nothing! :)

  • Sarah says:

I’ve been there once with adult friends and once with one of my sons. It’s such a fun place to visit and I was surprised that the food was delicious. Even if my 8 year old beats me at EVERY game, like he did at our visit, I need to go back with both with both of my kids. It would be a fun night out for us.

  • ROSE says:

I am always looking for great places to go in Edmonton and The Rec has lots to offer.
    I am in!
