Meet at the ‘Happy Wall’ in Churchill Square on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018!

The #IGWallsofYEG photo walk is free to attend, family and pet-friendly, and just a generally good time.

We do ask that participants please consider bringing a cash donation for Rust Magic Street Art Festival, who are responsible for bringing local and international artists to create many of our city’s beautiful murals! We’ll be stopping at one of their murals (Edmonton’s newest and biggest).

RSVP on Eventbrite or on Facebook and read more about what an Instagrammable Walk is, below!

Let’s celebrate the beautiful, Instagrammable walls in our city by going on a downtown Edmonton Instagrammable Walls Photo Walk.

What is an Instagrammable Wall?

It’s basically an interesting-looking wall that makes a great backdrop for a photo of yourself or your friends, posted to Instagram.

Instagrammable Walls can be mural walls, bold, colourful walls, graffiti walls, interesting textured-walls – you name it. Instagrammable Walls add beauty to a city, and attracts people to a location that might otherwise not be frequented. It can often surprise you. My general rule of thumb is that an Instagrammable Wall needs to look neat, and be photographable with YOU at the base of it.

What is a Photo Walk?

A Photo Walk is when a group of people get together and walk around a specific location, finding interesting opportunities and areas for taking pictures. Bring your cameras/phones, cute outfits, water bottle or snacks, and comfortable walking shoes! You’re welcome to join us for the entire walk, or just parts of the walk.

You can RSVP so we have an idea of numbers, or just show up the day of!

Where is the Meeting Point?

On Saturday, December 15, 2018 we will meet at Churchill Square, in front of the “Happy Wall” (across/south from where the old wading pool was in front of City Hall) and walk as a group to several Instagrammable Walls along downtown Edmonton, stopping to take photos of one another at each wall along the way. This is a great opportunity to get awesome new profile pictures/cover photos and general great images of yourself and your friends with very artsy backdrops, and explore the neighbourhood!

See my Guide to the Instagrammable Walls of Edmonton

The first Instagrammable Walls of Edmonton Photo Walk took place on Saturday, June 3, 2017 as part of Make Something Edmonton’s 100 in 1 Day transform your city event. I’ve hosted several walks since, and have also created guides to walls in other cities!

There’s been such a great response from Edmontonians who want to discover Instagrammable Walls! The intent is to help Edmontonians find beauty that’s all around this city, encourage people to explore their city, and spur the creation of more Instagrammable Walls!

Join the Instagrammable Walls of Edmonton Facebook Group!
