Last year I compiled a list of New Year’s Eve events in Edmonton for both my own decision-making and to help others plan out how they’d ring in the new year. I always have trouble finding good events and all-encompassing lists – so when in doubt… just make one yourself! ;) This list will be updated as I find new events and as event information becomes available. I imagine more events will be announced closer to New Years Eve so keep checking back for updates! I hope it acts as a valuable resource for you as much as it will for me!!

If you know of a New Years Eve event in Edmonton & area, please let me know! Comment below or tweet me and I’ll add it to this list!

Sawmill Restaurant has an annual new year’s eve event at their Banquet and Catering Centre:
    Check under Dec 31

    • Linda Hoang

Thanks for the tip Ron! It looks like their events page has some conflicting info (part of the description is referring to 2012/last year’s New Years) so I’ll wait until they update it all before I add it to the post!

  • Ryan

So awesome! Thanks for the list. I think that the link on the Big Al’s post is wrong though… :(

  • Lauren Sergy

Hi Linda! Thanks for this list – I’d like to add a truly FABULOUS event:

New Year’s Eve gala and belly dance spectacular with Club Cairo: Once upon a time, a whole bunch of insanely talented belly dancers joined with a fiery musician. They work collectively under the title Club Cairo, and have been putting on semi-annual shows that sell out.

This New Years Eve, they reunite to bring you an exciting evening of absolute beauty and entertainment. A $100 investment offers you a full multi-course meal, wonderful live entertainment, a midnight celebration, and a roaring dance floor. We hope you’ll join us!

    Live music by Sam Tabet

Dance performances by Anya, Hala Jamal, Holly, Lauren, Mimi Ghazal, Saskia, and Tatiana. With special guest MC, Denise Leclair.

    Doors: 7:30 p.m.
    Supper: 8:00 p.m.
    Show: 9:30 p.m.

I’m wondering if there are any Vancouver-style new year’s events, perhaps at a casino or hotel, complete with great buffet. Or just a regular buffet dinner that I could start at about 9pm, and leave an hour or two later, in time for fireworks downtown. Typing this out however, I’m realizing that’s a tall order…

    • Linda Hoang

There are a few parties taking place at hotels but I don’t know if the dinner menu is buffet. Fort Edmonton Park, The Comic Strip, and the Northlands Mardi Gras also offer buffets! :)

  • Paul

Can send you details about The Bourbon Room in St. Albert for Nye.

This was a great list. Thanks so much!

  • The Vivo Pizza 🍕 at @vivoristoranteyeg is SO tasty! Pulled chicken, signature Vivo sauce, grana padano 🧀 Tried a lot of great dishes tonight at #VivoDowntown (behind #MacEwanU) for their new #happyhour #aperitivo menu launch including this one. Good deals, Monday to Friday 3-6 p.m., and 11-6 on weekends too! It was also really nice to meet Vivo @ChefMedi. He's so passionate about his craft. 🙏🏻 And he put together a gluten-free 🍕 for @theporkgirl that was stellar! 👌🏻

  • An Instagrammable Wall blast from my past! I used to work at @globaledmonton doing a bunch of things over a few years.. video editing, web producing, news producing, writing and helping people in the Troubleshooter department! Been wanting to photograph this wall for awhile now (#IGWallsofYEG) and finally did this weekend. ☺️Apparently it's also a #PokemonGo hot spot lol. 😅

  • Had an awesome time touring Instagrammable Walls of Chinatown / east Downtown this weekend with my co-host @britl & this great group of people! There is no shortage of things to do in Edmonton in the summer so I definitely appreciated these guys choosing an #IGWallsofYEG #photowalk! 🙏🏻 This wall is called #ThunderBirdAlley on 105 Ave between 96 and 97 Street. 👌🏻 Would largely go unnoticed for those walking or driving along 97 Street but definitely deserves some attention! Another walk is in the works for September, stay tuned! ☺️

  • Dreaming of gelato. 💕🍧 I was out in #SturgeonCounty tonight at the annual Sturgeon County Bounty #CulinaryCookout and this raspberry lime gelato from @davincigelato was lovely. The #SturgeonCountyBounty is such a stellar event - think Taste of Edmonton & Heritage Festival with awesome #tasteab food but more of a relaxed, less crowded environment, great portion sizes / value, that fresh country air and lovely live music! Mark your calendars for next year- add it to your summer festival list! Check my IG Stories and my pal @argenplath's feed for more scenes from the festival! 😊
