As well, I contribute as a writer to NAIT’s techlife magazine and internal newsletter.

On the side, I write about food, social media and Edmonton/lifestyle on my blog. I appear regularly on a pop culture panel for Alberta Primetime (CTV2).

I am the Founder and Cat’s Meow of the Edmonton International Cat Festival! The inaugural festival took place on June 7, 2014 and drew 600 people, raising more than $8,000 for the Edmonton Humane Society. The 2nd Annual event in May 2015, brought out 1,500 people and raised $30,000 for the Edmonton Humane Society, Little Cats Lost, and SAFE Team Rescue.

Prior to NAIT, I worked at CTV as a Digital Reporter, managing CTV’s social media properties, developing, writing and updating online articles for CTV Edmonton’s website and working with reporters, producers and the assignment desk, gathering information for web articles and information to post to Facebook and Twitter. I was also a social
media columnist at the Edmonton Sun.

I also worked closely with the Global Trouble Shooter researching stories, helping Trouble Shooter hotline callers and setting up/screening interviews for Trouble Shooter stories.

I have more than nine years experience studying and working in the print and TV broadcast journalism / communications industry. My background (and comfort level) is in multimedia, journalism, writing, and web and my personal hobbies (passion) are eating, exploring, and using social media!
