Alberta Primetime: Pop Culture Panel (Sept. 26, 2013)

Last week I had the awesome opportunity of being a guest panelist on Alberta Primetime!

The current affairs show airs weekdays on CTV Two channels across Alberta as well as on a few satellite channels nationally. A lot of the show goes in-depth into local headlines and explores issues facing Albertans but the particular panel that I’ve been invited to appear on is their new Pop Culture Panel (#PTPopCulture).

in which we talk iPhone hype, chic geeks, Rihanna & Instagram, Alberta Culture and more! (Thor and Loki also make a cameo!!!)

I was on the panel last week with author Marty Chan and Avenue Calgary’s Kathe Lemon and tonight I’m appearing with Leduc 93.1 The One’s Sean Burke and University of Calgary’s Tom Keenan.

The panel is produced by Gaia Willis who is super excited about it (as she should be – it’s so fun!)

They’ll be rotating with its guests each week – and since it’s new, my appearances may or may not increase in frequency or decrease in frequency, based on scheduling, interest, or I guess if people like me on TV. Lol. :)

I won’t be on the panel for the rest of October because of my wedding + honeymoon so be sure to tune into tonight’s show (it airs once at 6 and again at 11 – then it gets put online on Friday)!

I’m so grateful for the opportunity and have had a blast the last two tapings. It really is a lot of fun, and very fast-paced. And it’s nice being able to get back to TV in a way – despite leaving the industry for my social media gig at NAIT a few months ago.

And although at the moment I don’t know how regular a guest I’ll be, it also comes at a nice time as I’m no longer writing for the Edmonton Sun. (more on that in a blog post after my wedding!)

It’s also fun being able to stop by the old newsroom and bump into old CTV friends! Nice excuse to say hi. :)
